Welcome to Waitara East School. We believe that the tamariki at our Kura are the heart of everything we do. We are a bilingual school offering level 2 Te Reo immersion teaching Te Marautanga o Aotearoa curriculum as well as having English medium classes that teach the New Zealand Curriculum. Our Kura acknowledges the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand. All Students at Waitara East have the opportunity to acquire knowledge of te reo Māori me Te Atiawatanga.

We understand that the experiences and interactions tamariki are immersed in daily at our school influence, shape and support them to grow and develop. We hope our website gives you a small insight into our Kura, the beliefs that drive us, our values and how these relate to our tamariki and their success.
